E sta beautiful view of the refinery appeared Penco published in a 1945 calendar issued by the industry. Fireplaces - which were three in total - are seen here working at full steam. The high production of refined sugar was shipped from here across the country mostly by train. After its closure in the 70 stopped the machines, the workers left and all was abandoned, until today. This picture I was given by Anita Riquelme is a testament to the importance that factory activity in Penco, so that new generations know.
